Tatarstan Minister of Ecology Azat Ziganshin assessed the readiness of landfills for a sanitary and ecological two-month period.
On the eve of the sanitary and ecological two-month period, the Minister of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan held an off-site meeting at the Vostochny MSW landfill. He assessed the facility's readiness for large-scale work on the elimination of unauthorized landfills and waste disposal, emphasizing the importance of strict compliance with all sanitary and epidemiological standards.
The Minister got acquainted with the current condition of the landfill, the stages of waste disposal and plans to launch the third map. Evgeny Chekashov, General Director of the Management Company "PZhKH", spoke in detail about the burial technology: waste is pressed and filled with soil, which reliably seals odors and minimizes risks to the environment.
According to experts, advanced solutions have been implemented at the landfill.:
•Fully automated treatment plants for Russian-made filtrate with a year-round operation cycle.
•Radiation control at the entrance, which excludes the import of hazardous waste.
•Biorepellent protection with the help of "feathered workers" — hawks of Steam and Tryphon. This method, borrowed from neighbors from Chuvashia, proved to be the most effective against peddling birds.
•Passive degassing system with biofilters on the new card (degree of purification up to 98%).
The training ground is as open to visitors as possible. In 2025, almost 300 people visited the landfill, from local residents to government and business representatives from other regions.
