Students of Kazan National Research Technological University (direction "Biotechnology") visited the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.
As part of the tour, the head of the central department of the laboratory of the Scientific and Production Association for Geology and Subsoil Use of the Republic of Tatarstan (GBU NPO Geocenter RT) Andrey Bodyazhin told the students about the work of an automatic air pollution control station and a mobile environmental laboratory. The specialist also explained how the atmospheric air analysis is carried out, and spoke in detail about the key parameters and indicators used in the study of samples. This allowed students to better understand modern approaches to environmental monitoring.
After the tour, Olga Manidicheva, Deputy Minister of Ecology, addressed the students, who spoke about the structure of the Ministry and the work carried out by the department's employees in the field of environmental protection. The children also learned about the implementation of such projects and events as the creation of the Volga Expanses specially protected natural area, the Free Current project, the Clean Air campaign and the project to revive the Volga-Kama Saker Falcon population in Tatarstan.
"Today it is especially important that young professionals come to the environmental field with new ideas and a desire to preserve our natural resources. We are always happy to meet with students and, of course, we are waiting for them at our Ministry," Olga Manidicheva noted.
Such meetings help students to better understand the profession they have chosen or are just planning to choose, understand the specifics of the job and learn about career opportunities.
