23 March 2026, Monday

Practical events within the framework of the Green Landing environmental project, which is implemented with a grant from the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, will begin in Kazan on April 15.

As part of the project, it is planned to transplant young trees from areas of potential logging, such as power lines and pipelines, into the buffer zone of the Volga-Kama Nature Reserve. This was announced today at a press conference at the Republican Agency for Press and Mass Communications Tatmedia.

Damir Valiullin, Head of the Information Systems and Environmental Education Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, took part in the event. He recalled that the sanitary and ecological two-month period starts in the republic on April 1.

"The Green Landing project is one of the first projects to be launched in the coming two months. It's always nice to start big events with such kind, good, initiative projects that give participants maximum practice. For us, the theme of the “Green Landing" is familiar. Everything that is connected with not destroying, but preserving in any way, is close to us," said Damir Valiullin.

Artem Khaziev, project manager, Adviser to the Chairman of the Youth Government on Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, noted that the "Green Landing" is aimed at preserving Tatarstan's forests through practical environmental protection measures and environmental education of young people, which corresponds to the goals of the federal project "Professionalism" of the national project "Youth and Children".

The project saves trees grown in the wild from destruction and at the same time enhances the protection of the protected area from anthropogenic impact. During the month, schoolchildren, students and young people under the age of 35 will be able to take part in environmental lessons, quizzes and promotions. More than 100 trees are planned to be transplanted as part of the project.

The project is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Tatarstan Regional branch of Russian Student Groups, the League of Students of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan State Energy University, the Republican Center for Student Labor Groups, the Youth Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Administration of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts of Kazan.
