The Arbitration Court of the Republic of Udmurtia granted the claim of the Ministry of Ecology and ordered the violator to pay almost 13 million rubles for damage caused to nature. The trial lasted from 2023 and, following the results of the trials, the decision was made in favor of the Ministry.

Earlier, inspectors from the Zakamsky Directorate revealed a violation of environmental legislation in the Kama River area in the Nizhnekamsk region. On the river, environmentalists recorded a dredger that extracted common minerals without a license.

Illegally extracted sand was placed within the boundaries of the water protection zone, which is a violation of the Water Code of the Russian Federation. The area of the stored sand was more than 10 thousand square meters, and the volume was 48 thousand cubic meters.

Ecologists calculated the amount of damage caused to the subsoil. It amounted to 12 million 907 thousand rubles.

According to the information of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, the dredger belongs to an individual who is the owner of the organization MB Nerudsnab Group, registered in the Udmurt Republic, Izhevsk.

The inspectors sent a claim to the violator, but he refused to voluntarily reimburse the amount of damage.

Then the environmentalists appealed to the Arbitration Court of the Republic of Udmurtia - at the place of registration of the organization. The court upheld the Ministry's demands and ordered the full amount of damages to be paid.
