The Golden Turtle International Wildlife Photography Festival has opened in Kazan

The Golden Turtle International Festival has started in the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan with the support of the Presidential Nature Foundation. The opening ceremony was attended by Ilnur Nasretdinov, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The festival is a large-scale cultural, ecological and educational project in Russia in the field of wildlife photography. For the first time in 20 years, he arrived in the capital of Tatarstan.

"The Republic of Tatarstan is a region with rich nature and unique ecosystems. We are actively working to preserve the natural heritage, develop environmental education and foster respect for the environment. And the Golden Turtle Festival is a great example of how art can become a powerful tool for environmental education," said Ilnur Nasretdinov.

After the opening ceremony, the participants and invited guests toured the exhibition. The exhibition features more than 120 photographs of the finalists of the wildlife photography competition, including the special collection "Reserved Russia" and photographs of the nomination "Wildlife of Moscow".

The festival will run until April 26. The program includes lectures, film screenings, workshops and creative meetings.

The project is aimed at preserving nature and changing people's environmental awareness and behavior through art and love for the world around them. The festival will provide an opportunity for schoolchildren and their parents to touch the world of wildlife in the very center of Kazan, which supports the goals of the national Youth and Children project.

For reference: The International Wildlife Festival has united all continents and 158 countries of the world for 20 years of work. The competition received 220,000 entries from 46,000 participants. The winners of the XX season of the International Photo Contest will be announced in Moscow in October 2026.
