"The forest requires kindness and strength": the story of a woman who protects the green heart of Tatarstan

6 March 2026, Friday

On the eve of International Women's Day, we decided to tell you a story about beauty and endless love for nature. Today, the heroine of our Ecology in Person column is Evgenia Kletkina, an amazing woman who has dedicated her life to protecting the forests of our republic.

We are friends and work side by side with colleagues from the Ministry of Forestry of Tatarstan, and today we are pleased to introduce you to a true professional in his field. Evgenia is the deputy head of the Yelabuga Forestry, and she is also the winner of our Eco-leader competition as the "Best State Inspector".

Evgenia's path to the profession is a love story for the forest that has been going on for more than 20 years. Having been educated at Lubyanka Forestry College and Kazan Agrarian University, she has come a long way: from a human resources specialist to a master of forestry and a reforestation engineer. And since 2013, she has been confidently leading the work of the Yelabuga Forestry.

We asked Evgenia what helps her maintain balance in such a difficult, masculine profession by traditional standards.

- "The most important thing in any situation is not to lose heart, even if circumstances are against you. That's when your internal ramrod is tested. And the forest, it senses when you come with kindness and confidence."

Colleagues speak of Evgeny not just as a competent leader, but as a person with a huge heart. They learn from her not only the wisdom of forestry, but also the ability to sincerely support, share experiences and warm those around them with warmth.

By the way, about those who are nearby. At home, our heroine is waiting for two fluffy pets — cats Kinya and Petya. But caring for the younger brothers does not end there: Evgenia always helps homeless animals and tries to support shelters. For her, ecology does not begin with global actions, but with a small good deed — to feed a stray kitten or save an injured tree.

Looking at women like Evgenia, you understand that nature is based on love. For the love of the forest, the earth, and every living being.

Dear women! Congratulations on March 8th!

May your care that you give to the world come back to you with warmth and joy. Let the work bring satisfaction, the house will be a bowlful, and spring is always blooming in the soul. Thank you for your wisdom, beauty and strength!

Happy Holiday, lovely women!
