On the Kazanka River in the village of Kazanbash, Arsky district, the next stage of the large–scale environmental campaign "Fish - to be!" was successfully held. The event, which supports the goals of the national Environmental Well-Being project, is aimed at preventing winter starvation of fish.
Employees of the Northern Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan and specialists of the State Committee for Biological Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan drilled more than 200 holes for aeration of the reservoir. Reed stalks were installed in each hole, which serve as natural oxygen conductors into the water. This procedure is critically important in winter, when reservoirs are experiencing oxygen deficiency due to thick ice and snow cover.
In 2026, similar events have already been held on the Izh River in the Agryzsky district, Shadreno Lake in the Menzelinsky district, Karakul Lake in the Baltasinsky district and other reservoirs of the republic.
Anyone can join the environmental initiative. To participate, you must contact the territorial offices of the RT State Committee for Biological Resources.
The campaign will continue until the ice cover completely disappears from the reservoirs of Tatarstan.
