Tatarstan is among the top 5 leading regions of the All-Russian "Boom Battle": the results of the winter season
The Republic of Tatarstan took the fifth place among 89 participating regions of the All-Russian campaign for the collection of waste paper Boom Battle, held in support of the national project "Environmental well-being".
In the winter season, which started on December 1, residents of the republic collected almost 120 tons (119,972 kg) of waste paper. In total, more than 2.4 million people across the country took part in the campaign, and the total weight of the collected waste paper was 68,675 tons.
The Boom Battle campaign is held in support of the national project "Ecological well-being", initiated by the President of the country, under the auspices of the All-Russian Ecological public movement "Ecosystem". This project has long outgrown the scope of a simple paper collection: it is a large-scale movement that unites people of different ages and professions with the idea of caring for the environment.
Boom Battle combines environmental benefits and a competitive spirit. Participants can compete for the championship in a team or individual competition, as well as contribute to the environmental rating of their region. Starting in 2025, the campaign has become year-round, which allows every resident of the republic to contribute to the preservation of nature, regardless of the season.
"Tatarstan in the top five of the Boom Battle is not just about numbers and high places. This is an indicator of the high environmental awareness of our residents. Every kilogram of waste paper collected is a saved tree and a reduction in the load on landfills. We are grateful to all the participants: schoolchildren, students, employees of enterprises and simply caring residents who made an informed choice in favor of recycling. Boom battle clearly proves that caring for nature can and should be systematic, permanent and unite people with a common goal," the press service of the Ministry of Ecology of Tatarstan notes.
Waste paper collection in the republic is organized at a variety of sites: kindergartens, schools, colleges, universities, offices of participating companies and government agencies. New seasons are ahead: interim results in individual and family competitions will be summed up in spring, summer, autumn and winter. The final results of the team and regional competitions will be announced in March 2026. The Ministry of Ecology of Tatarstan encourages all residents to continue participating in the campaign, consolidating and improving the achieved result.
