Today, the Minister of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, Azat Ziganshin, met with a participant of the Batyrlar. Heroes of Tatarstan program, Igor Egorov. The minister, who was appointed as a mentor within the framework of the republican program for the support of SMO veterans, held the first meeting with Igor Yakovlevich, who, having returned from the front line, now works in the Ministry of Ecology. The meeting was held on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day.

The conversation turned out to be really warm and substantive, because the interlocutors are united not only by their love for Tatarstan, but also by a common professional cause. From 2001 to 2004, Igor Yakovlevich worked as the chief specialist of the South-Eastern Territorial Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, and later in the Department for the Protection and Use of Wildlife.

During the conversation, Azat Ziganshin and a veteran of the Northern Military District discussed topical issues of nature protection and the rational use of the republic's natural resources. Igor Egorov spoke about his main values in life and why he was one of the very first volunteers to go to the front line:

"I have always done as my heart and soul dictate, I am a patriot of my Homeland. My grandfather fought in the war, my father's two brothers fought. I couldn't do anything else and volunteered for my army as soon as I found out that the country needed our help."

Igor Egorov, who now works as a senior specialist in the Southeastern Department of the Ministry of Ecology, spoke about his plans. He actively meets with schoolchildren, telling them not only about ecology, but also about patriotism, the inextricable link between protecting the Motherland and protecting its nature. Igor Yakovlevich, together with other participants of the program, is currently preparing his own project, which will be dedicated to working with volunteers. "When I found out about the Batyrlar program, I decided right away that this was my chance to be even more useful for the republic. I have been selected from almost 1,600 applicants and am now very happy about this opportunity. I believe that each of us should do everything in his power for his Homeland — someone protects it on the front line, and someone works valiantly here in the rear for the benefit of people and nature," Igor Egorov shared. "By protecting nature, we are protecting our homeland," he added.

Azat Ziganshin noted the special importance of the mentoring program, which is being implemented on behalf of the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. "Such initiative provides a unique opportunity not only to help veterans, but also to attract people with strong character, firm principles and true valor to the governance of the republic, qualities that we especially honor," the minister said.

Let's remind you: "Batyrlar. Heroes of Tatarstan" is a special project for the formation of the republic's personnel reserve from among SMO veterans and participants. Fighters with relevant competencies receive career opportunities in state or municipal service, contributing to the development of Tatarstan, including in the Year of Military and Labor Valor.
