Since the beginning of the year, 309 thousand measurements have been performed by automatic air purity monitoring stations of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan informs about the results of the work of the state network for monitoring atmospheric air quality in January 2026.

The volume of observations
carried out during the month by 17 automatic atmospheric pollution control stations (AAPCS) carried out over 309 thousand measurements of pollutant concentrations. A significant part of the data — 92 thousand measurements — was obtained from five stations located in the city of Kazan.

In January 2026, the AAPCS system registered 28 cases of exceeding the established maximum permissible concentrations (MPC) of pollutants in the atmospheric air in the cities of Kazan, Nizhnekamsk, Aznakaevo and the village of Kaleikino, Almetyevsk district.

Station details:

  1. AAPCS-2  (Kazan, Pavlyukhin str., 75): 4 carbon monoxide exceedances (the maximum multiplicity is 3.58 MPC). The alleged reason is the operation of vehicle engines.
  2. AAPCS-36  Aznakaevo, Neftyanikov str., 22): 2 exceedances (carbon monoxide — 1.36 MPG.R. and ethylbenzene — 3.35 MPC o.t.). They are related to the work of the equipment.
  3. AAPCS-32 (Kaleikino village, Shkolnaya St., 9): 2 exceedances in hydrogen sulfide (the maximum multiplicity is 4.36 MPC o.t.). The sources may be objects of federal state environmental control.
  4. AAPCS-13  Nizhnekamsk, Akhtubinskaya str., 4b): 20 carbon monoxide exceedances (the maximum multiplicity is 1.86 MPC o.t.).

To determine the contribution of industrial sources to the formation of carbon monoxide concentrations in Nizhnekamsk, calculations of emission dispersion were carried out based on a consolidated database of the city's emission parameters. The calculation results showed that under the prevailing weather conditions, the sources of emissions from enterprises subject to federal state environmental control made the greatest contribution.

All information about the recorded exceedances was promptly sent to the Volga-Kama Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor and the Department of Rospotrebnadzor in the Republic of Tatarstan for control measures.

No air quality standards were exceeded at the other stations of the AAPCS.

Let us remind you that up-to-date data from all 17 AAPCS stations in close to real-time mode is available to all citizens on GIS "Ecological Map of the Republic of Tatarstan" by the link: https://ecokarta.tatar.ru.

Please note:

  • Some of the measurement data on the map may be temporarily missing due to routine diagnostic and repair work on environmental analysis equipment.
  • During periods of scheduled maintenance (calibration and adjustment of instruments), excessive concentrations may be indicated on the map, which is not related to the actual state of atmospheric air. The data received during such periods is subject to mandatory verification.
