Environmental control and prevention of violations: results of the inspection activities of the Ministry of Ecology in 2025
During 2025, the Department of the State Environmental Supervision Inspectorate of the Ministry of Ecology identified 1,561 violations of environmental legislation. In order to prevent and inform business entities, more than 1,100 warnings were announced, and 262 consultations with inspection support were conducted.
Together with law enforcement agencies, work is underway to bring to administrative responsibility those involved in the commission of violations. The Ministry filed 178 claims in the amount of 97.8 million rubles, of which 102 claims in the amount of 53.8 million rubles were sent to the courts. Active cooperation with law enforcement agencies on issues of illegal mining, licensing violations and unauthorized waste disposal continued. A detailed analysis and parts of the control measures have been carried out, unscheduled inspections have been agreed on the objects that have fallen into the risk zone.
The inspection staff has defined tasks for 2026, which include strengthening the prevention of environmental risks, improving the accounting of objects of negative impact, further developing the agency's digital platform and working closely with the prosecutor's office.
