A special awarding ceremony for the winners of the Clean Heritage Olympiad for Young environmentalists took place in Almetyevsk today. Ilnur Nasretdinov, Deputy Minister of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, congratulated them:
"Be sure to come back next year. I hope you were able to make new friends here and share your emotions. Your decisions, projects and young scientific views will definitely be taken into account in the future. You have seen that all conditions have been created in our republic for development in various directions. You, the younger generation, prioritize the study of nature and environmental protection — it's worth a lot. Keep up the good work. Thank you all!"
The participants of the Olympiad had to go through two stages: correspondence and face-to-face. 1,791 schoolchildren from 25 regions of Russia and Belarus took part in the correspondence stage. They had to complete 35 test tasks in 45 minutes on topical environmental issues: conservation of biodiversity, protection of water resources and atmospheric air, reasonable waste management, urban ecology.
More than 150 schoolchildren from 21 districts of Tatarstan and 4 regions of the country took part in the in-person stage. Among the participants were guys from Samara and Nizhny Novgorod regions, Perm region and Moscow. The final of the Olympiad was held at the Youth children's health camp in Almetyevsk district. For six days, meetings with environmentalists, experts, master classes and excursions were organized for the children. The final task consisted of an essay and a test on environmental topics.
