63 oil and petroleum product spill response exercises were conducted in Tatarstan
In the first three quarters of 2025, employees of the territorial departments of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan took part in 63 exercises to eliminate oil and petroleum product spills.
The events were held in 18 districts of the republic, as well as in two major industrial centers – Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny. The main goal was to check the readiness of the forces and means of enterprises to eliminate emergencies related to the spill of petroleum products.
For example, complex exercises were recently held at the Kazan airport in the Laishevsky district. They were attended by employees of the Central Territorial Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, representatives of the Volga-Kama Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor and the Executive Committee of the Laishevsky district. The forces of Tatneftaviaservice LLC and the professional emergency rescue unit RegionSpas were involved in the liquidation of the conditional spill.
According to the legend of the exercises, there was a spill of 3,000 cubic meters (2,281 tons) of petroleum products, which created a real threat of contamination of the territory. During the training, the tasks of rescuing and evacuating the conditional victim, preventing the expansion of the pollution zone and eliminating the spill using special equipment were successfully completed.
The exercises confirmed the high level of training of specialists and personnel of industrial enterprises. All actions were carried out clearly and smoothly. Regular holding of such events helps to maintain the constant readiness of employees of enterprises to respond promptly to possible emergency situations.
