Comprehensive oil spill response exercises were held in Laishevsky and Nizhnekamsk districts. The commissions included inspectors from the Central and Zakamsky departments of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The first exercise was held in Laishevsky district near Kazan airport. According to legend, there was a spill of 16 cubic meters of petroleum products. Employees of the professional rescue formation of the limited liability company RegionSpas and representatives of the limited liability company Tatneftaviaservice participated in the liquidation. The exercises were held in two stages.  The first stage included alerting all services, evacuating personnel, and restricting access to the danger zone. At the second stage, the participants began to eliminate the conditional spill of petroleum products: with the help of special equipment, the spread of pollution was stopped, and the spill itself was localized. As a result of well-coordinated work, the conditional accident was completely localized and eliminated.

The second exercise was held in the city of Nizhnekamsk at the Synthetic Oil Plant facility. According to the training assignment, there was a spill of 300 cubic meters of oil. The events were attended by employees of the TAIF-SM limited liability Company, representatives of the professional emergency rescue service of the Service-Safety limited liability Company and fire and rescue unit No. 44. The accident prevention measures also consisted of two stages. First, the participants conducted an emergency alert of all services, ensured the evacuation of personnel and cordoned off the territory. Then, with the use of special machinery and equipment, they began to eliminate the consequences of pollution.

According to the results of the exercises, the sufficiency of forces and means to eliminate the maximum estimated oil spill was confirmed. Conditional incidents have been eliminated, and the work of the participants has been assessed as "satisfactory".
