Comprehensive exercises aimed at working out actions in case of emergency oil spills were held in Almetyevsk and Arsky districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. The commission included inspectors from the Southeastern and Northern departments of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The first exercise was held on the territory of the Yersubaikinsky oil field in the Almetyevsk region. The oil spill response measures were attended by employees of the professional emergency rescue unit of LLC RegionSpas, representatives of the emergency rescue unit of the Tatneft-Dobycha structural unit and fire and rescue unit No. 77. According to the exercise scenario, the territory was contaminated with oil. 6600 cubic meters of oil products were spilled. The exercises were held in two stages. The first stage of the event included alerting all services, evacuating personnel and restricting access to the danger zone. At the next stage, the participants began to eliminate the conditional spill of petroleum products: using special equipment, they stopped the spread of pollution. As a result of well-coordinated work, the spill was successfully localized and eliminated.
The exercises also took place in the Arsky district at the underwater crossing of the Kholmogory – Klin main oil pipeline across the Kismes River. The exercise was attended by employees of the Kazan RNU of JSC Transneft-Kama Region, representatives of Rostechnadzor, Rosprirodnadzor and the Executive Committee of the Arsky district. According to the training assignment, there was a spill of 100 cubic meters of oil in the river's water protection zone. During the exercises, all stages of the spill response were successfully completed, from notification and exploration of the emergency site to practical localization and elimination of a conditional oil spill. The specialists demonstrated the use of modern oil collection equipment.
As a result of both exercises, the conditional spills were completely eliminated, and the actions of the participants were assessed satisfactorily.
