Environmentalists took part in comprehensive oil spill response exercises
Specialists from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan took part in comprehensive exercises aimed at working out actions in case of emergency oil spills. The events were held in Mamadyshsky and Nizhnekamsk districts. The commission included inspectors from the Prikamsky and Zakamsky departments of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The first exercise was held in the Mamadyshsky district at the site of the assembly point of the Zakamskoye oil field. According to legend, as a result of a crack in the tank, 100 cubic meters of petroleum product leaked. There is a real threat of contamination of the territory. The specialists of Nokratoil Open Joint Stock Company, together with professional rescuers from RegionSpas, reacted promptly and deployed special equipment. The participants processed the notification of all services and departments about the emergency situation, the evacuation of personnel and the restriction of unauthorized persons' access to the danger zone. After that, the specialists eliminated the oil spill with the help of special equipment.
Similar exercises were held in the village of Balchykly, Nizhnekamsk region. Specialists of the TANECO joint-stock company took part in the exercises. Here, according to the exercise scenario, a 240 cubic meter diesel fuel spill occurred on the territory of the main technological product pipeline. The participants promptly conducted an exploration, determined the boundaries and volumes of the spill, evacuated personnel from the danger zone, and also took measures to localize and prevent further spread of petroleum products.
As a result of both exercises, the conditional spills were completely eliminated, and the actions of the participants were positively assessed.
