Anniversary Conference named after A. I. Shchepovskikh in Kazan will bring together environmentalists from all over Russia
The XX All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference named after A. I. Shchepovskykh "Industrial ecology and safety" will be held in Kazan on August 27-28, 2025. The anniversary forum, which will be held within the framework of the Tatarstan Petrochemical Forum-2025, will be dedicated to several significant dates at once: the 80th anniversary of Anatoly Ivanovich Shchepovskikh, the 65th anniversary of the Volga-Kama Biosphere Reserve and the 180th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society.
The year 2025 has become a special one for the Russian environmental industry. By decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the national Ecology project was replaced by the national Environmental Well-being project, which opens up new opportunities for environmental protection. With the support of Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov, the Head of Tatarstan, large-scale environmental projects and programs are being implemented, such as Free Current, the revision of water intakes in all regions of Tatarstan, and the clearing of rivers and lakes.
For the twentieth time, the conference will become a scientific and professional platform for discussion, bringing together government, science, business and society.
There will be three key areas of work at the conference: the plenary session "Strategy of ecological balance: current achievements and promising tasks of the environmental sphere", the round table "The role of specially protected natural territories in the conservation of biological diversity and socio-economic development of regions" and the practical session "Topical issues of monitoring the state of atmospheric air and monitoring industrial emissions of oil and gas enterprises and the chemical industry."
The participants will discuss issues of air quality control, industrial emissions in cities, digitalization of environmental monitoring, as well as the development of specially protected natural areas and the implementation of the national project "Environmental well-being" in the Republic of Tatarstan.
The geography of the participants is impressive: representatives of environmental authorities from St. Petersburg, the Chelyabinsk Region, and specialists from specially protected natural territories of federal significance will come to Kazan, including the Federal State Budgetary Institution Zapovedny Krym, the Federal State Budgetary Institution United Directorate of the Kerzhensky State Reserve and the Nizhny Novgorod Volga National Park named after V. A. Lebedev", Federal State Budgetary Institution "Nizhny Kama National Park". Representatives of academic and university science, enterprises and organizations of the real sector of the economy from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk, Perm, Ufa, Saratov, Vologda and other cities will also take part in the conference.
A number of agreements on cooperation on environmental issues will be signed at the conference.
