Specialists from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan took part in comprehensive exercises aimed at working out actions in case of emergency oil spills. The events were held under the leadership of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan in the territories of Novosheshminsky and Zainsky districts.
The commission included inspectors from the Volga-Kama and Zakamsky departments of the Ministry of Ecology.
In the Novosheshminsky district, according to the training scenario, an emergency situation arose at the Troitskneft pumping station, which led to a spill of 160 cubic meters of oil. The comprehensive exercise was conducted in 2 stages. The specialists promptly conducted an exploration, determined the boundaries and volumes of the spill, and then took measures to localize and prevent further spread of petroleum products.
Similar exercises were held in the Zainsky district in the village of Suyk-Chishma. Here, according to the scenario, an accident at the well led to the spill of more than 80 tons of oil. The specialists also successfully completed their tasks.
As a result of the exercises, the conditional spills were completely eliminated.
It should be recalled that the main purpose of the exercises is to improve cooperation between departments and develop an algorithm for actions in case of emergencies related to a spill of petroleum products.
