Specialists from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan took part in comprehensive exercises aimed at working out actions in case of emergency oil spills. The events were held under the leadership of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Republic of Tatarstan in the city of Nizhnekamsk and Muslyumovsky district.
The commission included inspectors from the Zakamsky and Priiksky departments of the Ministry of Ecology. The main purpose of the exercises is to improve the interaction between departments and to develop an algorithm for actions in case of emergencies related to the spill of petroleum products.
In Nizhnekamsk, according to the training scenario, an emergency situation arose as a result of the destruction of a reservoir on the territory of JSC Nizhnekamsktekhuglerod, which led to a spill of 3,000 cubic meters of oil. The specialists promptly conducted an exploration, determined the boundaries and volumes of the spill, and also took measures to localize and prevent further spread of petroleum products.
Similar exercises were held in the Muslyumovsky district at the base of the oil preparation and collection point. Here, the specialists also successfully completed their tasks, demonstrating a high level of professional training and effective cooperation between all the services involved.
As a result of the exercises, the conditional spills were completely eliminated. Such events allow timely identification of possible risks and increase the readiness of specialists to respond to emergencies, which contributes to ensuring the environmental safety of the region.
The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan expresses gratitude to all participants of the exercises for their high professionalism and responsible attitude to environmental issues.
