As part of spring flood control and monitoring of the condition of water bodies, inspectors from the Central Department of the Ministry of Ecology, together with specialists from the Central Department for Environmental Supervision, conducted an on-site survey of the Noksa River in Kazan.
At the time of the survey of the territories, no violations of environmental legislation were found.
Environmentalists took water samples near residential areas of the Sovetsky district of Kazan: Malye Klyki, Tsaritsyno, Quarry and Voznesenskoye.
According to the research results, exceedances of the maximum permissible concentrations of manganese were revealed. Let us recall that in this case we are talking about secondary manganese pollution, a process in which manganese from bottom sediments passes into the water column, causing high concentrations of the substance in the water.
