The Nizhnekamsk City Court of the Republic of Tatarstan ruled in favor of the Ministry of Ecology on compensation for damage caused to nature, as well as on the elimination of landfills.

In May 2024, during the monitoring of Nizhnekamsk, inspectors of the Zakamsky Management revealed the storage of waste in the Omshanka River water protection zone. The total area of the landfill was 1393 sq.m.

It turned out that the excavation was carried out by a private individual. The inspectors calculated the damage caused to the soil in the amount of 1.5 million rubles. The violator voluntarily refused to compensate for the damage and liquidate the landfill.

The Ministry filed a lawsuit with the Nizhnekamsk City Court. The court supported the environmentalists' demands.
