7 March 2025, Friday

The Federal Agency for Water Resources approved the operating modes of the Volga-Kama Cascade hydroelectric power plants from March 11 to March 20.

Reservoir operations on the Upper Volga have been adjusted to reduce discharge costs.

The modes of the Kuibyshev and Nizhnekamsk water reservoirs will continue while maintaining the previously established modes:

Kuibyshevsky - the average discharge rate for the period is 5000 ± 100 cubic meters/s.

Nizhnekamsk - in the mode of maintaining the water level in the upper reaches of the hydroelectric dam within the range of 62.70-63.75 m BS without taking into account overburden wind phenomena.

The next meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group will be held in the second half of March after receiving forecasts of the inflow to the reservoirs of the Volga-Kama Cascade for the 2nd quarter from the Russian Hydrometeorological Service.
