World Wildlife Day is celebrated today!

3 March 2025, Monday

This holiday was adopted on December 20, 2013 to draw attention to the protection of wildlife and the conservation of biodiversity.

In the Republic of Tatarstan, you can find many unique animals and plants. The region is home to the Red Book representatives. For example, the territory of the Volga-Kama Nature Reserve has the highest nesting density of the white-tailed eagle.

About 20% of Tatarstan's territory is covered by forests. Coniferous forests are made up of pines, firs, and spruces, while deciduous forests are made up of oaks, aspens, birches, maples, and linden trees. Hares, squirrels, moose, bears, martens, foxes, and minks are considered the main inhabitants of the republic's wildlife.

190 specially protected natural territories of the republic preserve unique landscapes preserved in the wild. The main thing is to protect and multiply these riches for future generations!
