The Naberezhnye Chelny School No. 11 hosted an event dedicated to the All-Russian Day of Wintering Birds of Russia, which is celebrated annually on January 15. The fourth graders met with inspectors from the Kama Department of the Ministry of Ecology to learn more about feathered friends who stay with us during the cold season.
The children remembered which species of birds spend the winter in Naberezhnye Chelny, discussed how they adapt to harsh conditions, what they eat and how they survive the cold.
"In class, the fourth graders solved riddles, listened to poems about birds, and even read them themselves. The students told what kind of birds they see in the city and shared interesting facts about the life of wintering birds," said Ilnara Shakurova, inspector of the Kama Department.
At the end of the eco-lesson, each student received a colorful coloring book with images of feathered friends from the Ministry of Ecology.
