Today, the Federal Agency for Water Resources held a meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on regulating the operating modes of reservoirs of the Volga-Kama Cascade via video conference.
Almaz Tugushev, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, took part in the meeting on behalf of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The operating modes of the reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade were established for the period from December 11, 2024 to January 20, 2025. For the Kuibyshev reservoir, modes are proposed with a reduction in average discharge costs over the period to 5,000 cubic meters/s.
Let us recall that from November 21 to December 10, the average discharge costs for the period of 5,600± 100 cubic meters/s were set for the Kuibyshev reservoir hydroelectric complex.
According to forecast calculations, the reservoir level will continue to decrease to 50.82 m BS on January 1 and 50.40 m BS on January 20. The gradual operation of the reservoir's water resources during the winter period is provided for by the basic rules for the use of water resources of the Kuibyshev reservoir on the Volga, which makes it possible to prepare the reservoir for the reception of spring floods. Water resources in winter are used mainly for the purpose of providing energy, as well as water management industries.
The Ministry has supported the modes of operation of waterworks proposed by Rosvodresursy. Instructions from Rosvodresursy on the establishment of operating modes for reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade will be posted on the official website of Rosvodresursy.
