The next meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on regulating the operating modes of reservoirs of the Volga-Kama Cascade was held the day before by the Federal Agency for Water Resources.

The members of the working group, including the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov, discussed the modes of operation of the cascade reservoirs in the period from October 11 to November 10.

Let us recall that according to the results of the last meeting from September 11 to October 10, discharge costs were set at the level of 5800-6200 cubic meters/s. But in order to prevent intensive development of the Kuibyshev reservoir, the Instructions of Rosvodresursy were reduced to 5000-5300 cubic meters/s from September 26.

According to the results of the current meeting, the operating mode of the Kuibyshev reservoir hydroelectric unit with an average discharge rate of 4,500 cubic meters/s is being established. According to the forecast calculations of Rosvodresursy, with such a volume of discharge, the level of the Kuibyshev reservoir will not drop below 52.0 m BS by the end of October.

We remind you that the decisions of the Interdepartmental Working Group are published on the official website of Rosvodresursy.
