The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan held a solemn summing up and awarding of the leaders of the federal environmental program "School of Recycling: Electronics" of the Fund for Rational Environmental Management. The authorities, budgetary institutions and schoolchildren who have made the greatest contribution to the collection and disposal of electronic waste, as well as environmental education and enlightenment, received commendations and valuable prizes.
Let us recall that in August 2022, within the framework of the Tatarstan Petrochemical Forum, the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Fund for Rational Environmental Management signed an agreement on cooperation in the implementation of environmental programs. After the signing of the federal program "School of recycling: Electronics", it became widespread in the republic.
The main goal of the federal program is to provide residents with an opportunity to transfer expired equipment for recycling in an environmentally friendly and convenient way. The implementation of this project directly contributes to the achievement of the goals of the national project "Ecology" in terms of effective waste management.
Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Olga Manidicheva delivered a welcoming speech to the participants. She noted that since the start of the program in the republic, 1,773 applications have been received from Tatarstan organizations to the Fund for Rational Environmental Management. 276 tons of waste of electronic and electrical equipment were removed from the territory of 32 settlements of the republic. "Your active participation allowed Tatarstan to take a leading position among the regions participating in the federal program last year. By your example, you once again show how not only by word, but also by deed, you can contribute to environmental protection," the head of the department stressed.
According to Tatyana Gainutdinova, head of the Recycling School: Electronics program, today the project aimed at reducing landfill disposal of outdated equipment and forming a culture of responsible attitude to electronic waste covers all regions of Tatarstan and unites eco-activists, schoolchildren, students and over 1,500 organizations in various fields of activity.
"Environmental campaigns and contests resonate with the younger generation, residents who are not indifferent to the ecology of their native land participate in practical environmental events, and the efforts of the Government of Tatarstan within the framework of the program are traditionally celebrated at the federal level. These are really high results, which together we managed to achieve in just two years. The program is growing and developing rapidly, so we are launching a new stage," the speaker added.
So, from September to the end of the year, 16 campaigns for the collection and export of scrap electronics will be organized in the republic.
