The exploitation of natural resources near water bodies causes damage that nature does not have time to make up for. Every year, in order to maintain this balance, a project is being implemented for the artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources, when millions of juvenile fish of different breeds are released into natural reservoirs.
A similar campaign took place the day before in the village of Kalmash in the Tukayevsky district. With the participation of specialists from the Kama Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, more than 200 thousand sterlet fry grown in the Saratov fish nursery were released into the Kama. This amount also takes into account natural losses so that there are enough survivors to conserve fish resources.
The procedure for releasing fry is multi-stage - first they are caught from an artificial reservoir in a fish hatchery, weighed and transported in a special transport to the shore of the reservoir. The average weight of an individual is at least 3 grams.
An important factor in the survival rate and subsequent reproduction of released juveniles is a good food supply. According to experts, the waters of the Nizhnekamsk reservoir have optimal conditions for the restoration of the sterlet population.
The process itself is strictly regulated and coordinated with the Federal Agency for Fisheries. The release is carried out only under the supervision of a special commission.
