The expert examination on the limits of hunting resources extraction project has been completed

The Ministry of Ecology held a meeting of the expert commission of the state environmental assessment, where they discussed the limit of hunting resources extraction in Tatarstan for the period from August 1, 2024 to August 1, 2025. 

The head of the expert commission, candidate of biological sciences, associate professor, head of the Department of Zoology and General Biology, deputy director - dean of the Graduate School of Biology of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology of K(P)FU Rushan Sabirov and senior lecturer of the Department of Zoology and General Biology of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology of K(P)FU Alexander Belyaev took part as experts. Experts from the Ministry were employees of the Department for the evaluation of planned activities Ilnaz Fathullin and Denmark Ziganshina.

Limits and quotas for the extraction of hunting resources are approved annually, which allows the use of hunting resources without harming the reproduction of populations. A distinctive feature of the new project is that, for the first time, the results of counting the number of spotted deer are included in the project materials. 

The expert commission noted the compliance of the submitted materials with environmental requirements, the level of environmental impact when removing animals (elk – 918 individuals, Siberian roe deer – 861 individuals, red deer – 9 individuals, spotted deer – 9 individuals, lynx – 4 individuals, badger - 209 individuals) is acceptable.
