21 February 2024, Wednesday

The Sea Around the corner project celebrates 5 years this year! During this time, teenagers, students, specialists and mentors from 43 regions of the country took part in the project. Together they designed and created with their own hands more than 20 functional and art objects.

The authors of the project are already ready to meet new heroes - participants from 14 to 30 years old in order to create unique architectural and design ideas on a Helicopter island in the Republic of Tatarstan.

This year there are 4 main directions:

— architecture (implementation of a functional object);

— design of the architectural environment (implementation of environmental objects);

— reconstruction (rethinking the existing infrastructure of the island);

— graphic design (graphic design of objects).

The project consists of 2 main stages:

 The online stage runs from the end of March to the beginning of May. The participants work in teams, create a concept of an object or a project. Creative freedom in design is combined with the need to take into account the Island's environment and existing facilities. Thanks to this, participants develop a practical approach to their idea. The final is a presentation and defense of your own concept.

The offline stage will take place in August. The most active participants will go to the Vertoletny Island and take part in the implementation of the best projects. To build, work in a team and look for a solution here and now — everyone gets their own experience of the real implementation of the idea.

Recruitment for the online part of the project in 2024 is now open. Applications are accepted by following the link https://clck.ru/38p93Q until March 10th. The participants will undergo a competitive selection based on their portfolio, so it is important to attach the best works. The best applicants will be offered scholarships to cover the costs of participating in all stages of the project.

The project is being implemented with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
