The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan took part in the regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on regulating the operation modes of reservoirs of the Volga-Kama Cascade via video conference.
The meeting, organized by Rosvodresursy, was attended by members of the working group – representatives of Rosrybolovstvo, Rosmorrechflot, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, Roshydromet, JSC SO UES, PJSC RusHydro, JSC Tatenergo and executive authorities of subjects located within the boundaries of the Volga-Kama basin.
During the meeting, the issue of establishing the operating modes of the reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade for the period from February 11 to March 10 was discussed.
Currently, the water level of the Kuibyshev reservoir is maintained at levels close to 50.5 m BS. According to forecast calculations, by the beginning of the spring flood on April 1, 2024, the water level of the reservoir will rise to a level close to 51.0 m BS.
Taking into account the current water management situation, the Ministry supported the operating modes of the Kuibyshev reservoir proposed by Rosvodresursy: the average discharge flow rate for the period is 4800 ± 100 cubic meters/s.
The established modes of operation of hydroelectric reservoirs will be published on the official website of Rosvodresursy.
