Since 2024, new substances have been included in the list of pollutants subject to regulation. 79 items have been added to the list. Among them are heavy metals and their compounds (beryllium, barium carbonate), carbon (soot), sodium hydroxide (alkali), vinyl chloride, abrasive and asbestos-containing dust, resinous substances in the emissions of aluminum production, as well as thiols. Now, government regulation measures will be applied to these substances, which involve organizations obtaining permits for the release of such substances and limiting the volume of such emissions.
Let us recall that the list of pollutants is one of the most important documents, since the use of the substances listed in it is subject to state regulation. Calculations of emission and discharge standards, industrial and state control and supervision should be carried out for these substances.
Business entities operating at category I, II and III facilities are to:
- carry out calculations of permissible emission standards for pollutants additionally included in the list;
- calculate and pay for the emissions of new pollutants;
- review the relevant permits;
- ensure the updating of accounting data in the register of objects that have a negative impact on the environment, with a possible change in the category of the object.
Violations in this area can lead to fines and even suspension of the company's activities.
