Alexander Shadrikov: "Over 30 years, the gross regional product has grown 2.9 times, and emissions have decreased by 24.8%"
The Minister of Ecology answered the question about the successes of the republic within the framework of decarbonization and whether the industry is meeting them halfway. Alexander Shadrikov noted that 60.5 billion rubles have been invested in environmental protection measures in Tatarstan over 6 years, of which more than half are funds from our enterprises. "In the Volga Federal District, we occupy the first place in terms of business contribution to the environment. The high environmental orientation of enterprises makes it possible to actively work on decarbonization. "We are currently discussing the issue of monetization of the carbon unit. All industries, all directions are involved in active work, and we see statistics: greenhouse gas emissions decreased by 12.7%, and absorption increased by 14.2%. This is also due to afforestation, reduction of emissions and discharges from industry," the minister stressed.
"Initially, our task, I repeat, is to structure the problems in order to solve them systematically. We are always ready to discuss how to jointly and comprehensively resolve issues. In the share of all the Ministry's activities, only 7% of the work is unauthorized landfills. The remaining 93% is work with science, monitoring, analytics, development and decision-making," said the head of the environmental protection agency.
