Over the past six years, 60.5 billion rubles have been allocated to environmental protection measures of the Republic – these data were cited by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov in the live broadcast of the Tatarstan Online program. Of these, the volume of budget financing amounted to 24.9 billion rubles. Possible damage in the amount of more than 65 billion rubles has been prevented. In just one year, in 2023, a total of more than 10 billion rubles were allocated for environmental protection, including almost half of them from enterprises. "This is what is laid down in the 2030 Strategy. First of all, these are our people, our residents. Our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has repeatedly said that the well-being of people is the highest value. Our main KPI is zero complaints from the population," said Alexander Shadrikov. He added that the national project "Ecology" gave a new impetus to all environmental measures. Since 2019, 30 events worth 17.6 billion rubles have been implemented. For 2024-2026, 8 more events are planned in the amount of 5.7 billion rubles.
One of the most capital–intensive projects is, of course, the reclamation of silt fields, which are being carried out within the framework of the Volga Rehabilitation project. Victoria Valerievna Abramchenko, who visited Tatarstan in September this year, called this project a flagship one. The reclamation of silt fields is carried out in conjunction with the total reconstruction of sewage treatment plants. "We use an integrated approach: when we started designing for reclamation, we needed to stop operating the silt fields. The solution was the construction of a workshop for thermomechanical treatment of sludge. It is thanks to such an integrated approach to solving all environmental problems of the leadership of our republic, Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov, that Tatarstan has become the central platform of the federal seminar on the exchange of experience in improving the Volga River," the Minister of Ecology emphasized.
