The Mir cinema hosted a screening of the unique documentary "The Master of the Altai Mountains", which for the first time presents in detail the life of snow leopards in the wild of Russia. The premiere broadcast was seen by Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Oleg Korobchenko, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Irada Ayupova and others. The Head of the Republic expressed great gratitude to the filmmakers. "Hello everyone, leopard lovers, we are all ready to applaud," the Head of Tatarstan addressed the audience — eco-volunteers of Tatarstan, as well as students of specialized universities who were invited to the premiere screening of the film. The main character of the picture was a young leopard, who was recently born and who will have to survive or die in the wild. "I am sincerely glad that the premiere of the wonderful documentary "The Master of the Altai Mountains" brought together a large and friendly team of like-minded enthusiasts – zoologists, employees of nature reserves, volunteers, representatives of public, charitable foundations and organizations. And, of course, filmmakers, those who make a personal contribution to the preservation of the snow leopard population, who are inspired by the amazing beauty of pristine nature. In Russia, environmental issues and rational use of natural resources are rightfully among the significant national priorities," Russian leader Vladimir Putin stressed in his welcoming address, which was read out before the show by the presenter.
The filming, which lasted almost 3 years, took place in Sailugemsky National Park in Altai, home to the largest population of snow leopards in Russia, numbering two dozen animals. The film, which was dubbed by legendary TV presenter Nikolai Drozdov and famous actor Konstantin Khabensky, is presented by the interregional association "Center for the Study and Conservation of the snow Leopard "Irbis".
The general producer of the film, Ali Uzdenov, spoke to the participants of the screening.
"It's exciting, because for us, the group that created this film, this premiere in Tatarstan is the main one, because the snow leopard is a magnificent beast and a symbol of the Tatars," he said.
Let us recall that Tatarstan, together with the Republic of Altai, taking into account climatic features, is creating a Center for the conservation of biological diversity "Snow Leopard", which will be a continuation of the project to create a Center for the study of rare species of cats "Ak Bars". The project, with the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, was included in the federal project "Conservation of biological diversity and development of ecological tourism" of the national project "Ecology".
