This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Victoria Abramchenko, after visiting the recultivated Samosyrovsky landfill, where work began in 2021 as part of the federal project "Clean Country". The Deputy Prime Minister of Russia was accompanied by Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin, Minister of Ecology of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov, Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Aizatullin and others.

Tatarstan Ecology Minister Alexander Shadrikov spoke in detail about the project.  He noted that the uniqueness of this project is that an active degassing system is used here. Landfill gas will be used for the production of electric energy, the speaker stressed.

"Today we are at the largest landfill. It is closed for waste reception in 2019 and is included in the federal project "Clean Country". You know that our task is to eliminate the most dangerous 191 landfills by the end of 2024, all of them are located in cities," the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia told reporters.

She noted that all work at the landfill is on schedule. "Recultivation of this landfill will achieve an ecological effect for 342 thousand people. The landfill is located on an area of 14 hectares. Decontamination technologies are used at the landfill. That is, electric energy will also be generated here due to the burning of landfill gas. And here a unique technology of landfill filtrate removal is applied. I think that the project is large–scale! Thanks to federal support, Kazan residents will be able to breathe clean air, because landfill gas will no longer poison their lives," Victoria Abramchenko emphasized.

Let us recall that the project of recultivation of the Samosyrov landfill was developed by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The biological and technical stages of the reclamation of the Samosyrov landfill in Kazan will be completed in 2023, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Egor Tarnavsky told reporters.

"The facility is being implemented within the framework of the national Ecology project, which was launched by Russian President Vladimir Putin. He has repeatedly noted that ecology is important both to the economy and to every person. The facility has been implemented within the framework of the federal project "Clean Country" since 2021," the Deputy minister said.

According to Deputy Minister of Ecology Egor Tarnavsky, landfill gas will last for 25 years.

Currently, work is underway at the facility on the installation of pipes for degassing, filling the fertile soil layer and sowing herbs. The total readiness of the facility is 77.37%.
