The final of the architectural project "The Sea around the bend" was held on the island "Vertoletny" in Tatarstan. Students and young specialists from 43 cities of Russia lived on the island for a week and built new architectural and art objects, restored and reinterpreted objects that were built earlier. Traditionally, experts and architects come to the island. This year, the work was supervised by the architect of the UTRO bureau, co-founder of the educational project "PLACE" Olga Rokal and the head of the layout workshop "Archetype" Ildar Tazeev. Training on working with tools from the Center for the Development of Professional Competencies of the Republic of Tatarstan was conducted by Insaf Kamalov.
The first stage was held in an online format, in a few months the participants joined teams, designed objects under the guidance of professional mentors. As a result, six of the best projects were selected for implementation on the island! During the week on the island, the team updated the music facility with two gazebos, restored the "Sun" performance area, built additional benches and reinforced the floor, beams and supports for swings on the beach.
That year, the project entered the top 10 best youth projects in the field of creative industries according to Russian Creative Week 2022.
The project "The Sea around the corner" has been in existence for only four years. In 2023, the project is being implemented with the support of Rosmolodezh. Grants and with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
