Oleg Sinyashin told about the interaction of the Ministry of Ecology with the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan and other scientific centers of Russia at the final board of the Ministry
Oleg Sinyashin – Scientific Director of the Chemistry department of the A. E. Arbuzov Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry of the Kazan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences made a report at the final board of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. He said that all major industrial cities in Russia have the same problems: air pollution by harmful emissions from enterprises and transport, pollution of water resources by sewage, numerous garbage dumps. Due to the rapidly growing pace of urbanization, enterprises find themselves in close proximity to residential neighborhoods and many environmental problems arise from this. To solve such problems, the Ministry of Ecology works closely with the scientific community.
In order to expand the possibilities of scientific support, an Agreement on cooperation between the Ministry of Ecology and the Russian Academy of Sciences, represented by the Kazan Scientific Center, the Institute of Organic Chemistry and the Institute of General Physics, was signed in 2019.
In the context of global federal challenges, the main strategic tasks for the Republic in the field of environmental protection are the disposal of industrial waste and the search for new directions for the use of secondary materials, as well as the development of new technologies to minimize the negative impact of industrial emissions and effluents, including those aimed at reducing the carbon footprint. Science in the development and achievement of these goals and objectives should become a key element.
In this regard, at the end of April of this year, at the initiative of the Ministry, leading representatives of science were invited to the Republic for a visiting meeting of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on Global Environmental Problems, headed by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences S. N. Kalmykov. The delegation visited the largest industrial enterprises of Nizhnekamsk district. The meeting ended with the signing of a cooperation agreement.
"The most important event that officially consolidated the interaction of the Republic of Tatarstan with the Russian Academy of Sciences for the next 7 years was the signing of an agreement and a program of scientific, technical and technological cooperation between the Government of the Republic and the Russian Academy of Sciences for 2022-2030, including conducting scientific research and technological developments in the field of ecology. The Consortium "Ecology of Industrial Cities" is a tool for the implementation of a multidisciplinary cooperation program," Oleg Sinyashin said.
Let us recall, according to the decree of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, 2022-2031 has been declared the decade of science and technology in Russia.
