Events within the framework of the national project "Ecology" will be one of the key topics of the XXVIII meeting of the Basin Council of the Nizhnevolzhsky Basin District

On September 23, the 28th meeting of the Basin Council of the Nizhnevolzhsky Basin District will be held in the Bashir Rameev IT Park. The meeting will be attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Lower Volga Basin Water Management Nikolay Ponomarev and Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov.

This is a unique platform for the exchange of experience and opinions on the preservation and improvement of the Volga. The large-scale event will bring together representatives of federal executive authorities, state authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and local self-government bodies, as well as water users and representatives of public associations.

In order to coordinate interaction and solve problems of rational use of waters and prevent the negative impact of waters on the "lower" Volga, measures proposed by the subjects of the Russian Federation will be heard and recommended. These are shore protection works, construction of engineering protection facilities, overhaul of hydraulic structures, cleaning and rehabilitation of water bodies. In case of a positive conclusion of the Basin Council, these projects will be able to be implemented at the expense of the federal budget.

One of the key topics of discussion will be the events within the framework of the federal projects "Improvement of the Volga" and "Preservation of unique water bodies" of the national project "Ecology". In addition, the participants will consider issues of ensuring the reliability of water supply to the sectors of the economy and the population, as well as problems related to improving the quality of monitoring of water bodies.

The upcoming Basin Council will contribute to the further development of Tatarstan's interaction with neighboring subjects of the Russian Federation and strengthen cooperation in solving problems of rational water use, preventing the negative impact of water, as well as protecting water and aquatic biological resources of the regions.

The Basin Council was established in accordance with the Water Code of the Russian Federation to ensure the rational use and protection of water bodies and develop recommendations in the field of use and protection of water bodies located within the boundaries of the basin district. The Lower Volga Basin District includes water bodies of the Volga River basin from the upper reaches of the Kuibyshev Reservoir to the confluence with the Caspian Sea and the territories of 8 subjects of the Russian Federation (Republic of Tatarstan, Ulyanovsk Region, Samara Region, Saratov Region, Volgograd Region, Orenburg Region, Astrakhan Region, Republic of Kalmykia).
