Today, the Ministry hosted a zero-session "Global Environmental Challenges" as part of the opening of the All-Russian Junior Water Forum-2021. The event was attended by young specialists, experts in the water industry and scientists from Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Omsk, Pskov, Irkutsk and other regions. Also, more than 500 participants from 85 regional sites joined the forum via videoconference.
Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Egor Tarnavsky addressed the forum participants with a welcoming speech: "It is gratifying that this year Kazan has become the central venue of the forum, because the Republic of Tatarstan is one of the most water-rich regions of the Volga Federal District. I am glad to see you, young people and your mentors. I wish you good luck!".
At the strategic session, the participants discussed such topics of global environmental challenges as water scarcity, reduction of the carbon footprint. They also touched upon the issues of climate change and microplastics as a threat on a planetary scale.
It should be noted that the grand opening of the forum will take place tomorrow, November 19 in the IT Park, beginning at 10:30. The guests of the event will be Roman Minukhin, Director of the Profile Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, Ilya Razbash, Adviser to the Head of Rosvodresurs, and Alexander Shadrikov, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.
