Are the residents of Kazan ready to transfer to phosphate-free detergents? The survey-questionnaire was held today in the center of Kazan by request of Tatarstan citizens to use eco-friendly cleaning products. The volunteers explained what was the danger and what to replace.

The number of recorded exceedances of maximum permissible concentration of polluting substances in the atmospheric air of Nizhnekamsk has decreased by 6.6 times. Such data was sounded by the specialists from the state body of ecological expertise and regulation of impact on the environment of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Special containers for delivery of spent mercury lamps have been installed in 7 points in Almetyevsk. Spent lamps contain the hazardous substance - mercury, which has toxic effects on humans and the environment. In case of mechanical failure of one mercury lamp unsuitable for breathing becomes 5000m3 of air the percentage of hazardous effects of mercury on the environment can be reduced.
February 2 - is the world day of wetlands. The Convention on wetlands was signed on this day in 1971 in the city of Ramsar (Iran) for the purpose of preservation and rational use of wetlands as a means of achieving sustainable development throughout the world. Since this time, the document is referred to as the Ramsar Convention.
The city open environmental school pupils forum "Zilant", which is aimed at creating optimal conditions for intellectual and creative expression of students, the promotion of pre-work with high school students was held in Kazan for the eighteenth time. In the framework of the forum 450 school pupils presented investigation works and projects on the study and conservation of plant resources, which this year became the topic of the forum.

The city children's ecological and biological center of Kazan and the Republican Olympiad Center invite pupils of grades 1-11 to participate in the republican open socio-ecological contest "Let's preserve the nature of Tatarstan". It is aimed at the formation of ecological thinking and culture among the younger generation, the development of schoolchildren's interest in the preservation and enhancement of the natural wealth of Tatarstan.
Almetyevsk took the second place in the ranking of "Greenpeace of Russia" by availability of separate collection of wastes. According to statistics, 86 % of Neftegrad's residents have the containers for sorting household waste near their houses. The residents of suburban Mytischi – 93 % of the residents have the best access to the local separate waste collection, according to the rating. Volzhskiy has occupied the third place - 84%.
