Today, the ceremony of presenting state awards of the Republic of Tatarstan took place at the meeting of the end-of-year board of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan. Distinguished workers were awarded by the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

An extended meeting of the end-of-year board of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Office of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources Use for the Republic of Tatarstan "On results of work in 2018 and tasks for 2019" was held today in Kazan. Being one of the most industrialized regions of the country, Tatarstan pays special attention to environmental issues. Everything that we are implementing today is implemented according to the strictest environmental standards”, said President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. A great deal of work is also being done in the field of new energy installations, which also meet the latest requirements. At the end of the board, the employees of the environmental protection sector of the republic distinguished themselves for the year were awarded with state awards.

96 centers of environmental education – eco-classes, were created in all municipal districts of the republic on instructions of the President of Tatarstan together with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan. Mentoring over them is carried out by the employees of the territorial administrations of the Ministry, said Aleksandr Shadrikov. According to the Head of the environmental protection agency, in 2018, environmentalists conducted 1,161 eco-lessons with schoolchildren, covering 24,672 pupils.

More than 6 thousand violations of environmental legislation were stopped, fines and damages in the amount of 55.3 million rubles were recovered. As part of joint work with law enforcement agencies, 35 criminal cases were initiated. Minister Aleksandr Shadrikov reported on results of the state environmental supervision at the end-of-year board of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Office of Rosprirodnadzor for the Republic of Tatarstan. Together with the municipalities 1,760 illegal dumps were eliminated. About 11 thousand appeals of citizens were processed.

4.8 billion rubles are allocated to Tatarstan for implementation of 3 federal projects in the framework of the national project "Ecology". Funding was provided for the projects “Improving the Volga”, “Clean Water”, and “Saving Forests” until 2021. “Our task is to maximize the participation of the republic’s events in the national project”, the Minister said at an extended meeting of the end-of-year board of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Office of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources Use in the Republic of Tatarstan.

The board is devoted to summing up the work of the departments for 2018 and the tasks for 2019.

The meeting is held at the site of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Prikamskiy Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan received a complaint through the hotline about the discharge of wastewater. The inspectors immediately came to the site and confirmed the violation. In the course of survey, it was found that household water was drained from the cottage on Zalesny Prospekt street. Persons involved in this offense will be brought to administrative responsibility.

The action on water oxygenation is held annually.

The world record was set by members of the underwater research team of the Russian Geographical Society named after Aleksei Leonov on Izumrudnyi Lake in Kazan. 10 hours and 5 minutes they spent under the ice. Also during the dive, Russian diving equipment was tested and various extreme scenarios were worked out: an accident, equipment failure, mutual aid in an emergency situation.
