Photo-exhibition“Unique water facilities of Russia” opened in Moscow on January 29, 2015. Photographic works of both amateurs and professionalsof photography who captured beauty, uniqueness and variety of rivers, water facilities, lakes and other water objects of Russia will be featured at the exhibition.Exposition participants will be able to place them on the interactive map of Russia.

The IIInternational Contest of Ecological Fashion “Ecoboom-2015” will be held in March in Perm. The contest is aimed at creation of conditions for promotion in the young generation of ecological culture andadvocacy of healthy attitude to the environment. The participants should 21years old or younger.

The contest is held in the following categories:

  • “Experiment”collections made from secondary raw materials and packing material (paper, plastics, metal, PE and so on).
  • “ECO Planet”collections made from natural fabric (cotton, flax, wool, silk and so on), as well as natural materials (straw, seeds, grain, sea shells and so on).

The international contest “School for ecology” started in Moscow. The contest is aimed at attraction of pupils’ attention to environmental problems that they face in their city on a daily basis.Participants suggest specific ideas and carry out campaigns intended for improvement of ecological situation and attraction of public attention to it. Pupils of forms 7 – 10 can send their pieces of work until February 15, 2015.

The 19th International Exposition leanTech 2015 is held in Israel on January 27 – 28, 2015. The exposition related to water technologies, energy efficiency, sources of renewable energy, “green” transport and house-building will be held in the framework of the event. The latest advanced developments, products and services in the field of environment protection and new high tech productions, clean transport infrastructure, clean energy technologies, energy efficiency, water resources, purification, demineralization, filtration of water, waste treatment and so on are featured at the exposition.

The XIII All-Russian Ecological Forum “Green Planet 2015” devoted to the Year of Literaturewill be held in Moscow in April 2015.
The forum is aimed at:
 development of respectful attitude to nature in young Russian citizens through its description in literary works;
 fosteringof tolerance to unique human values in children and adolescents that are consistent with the principle of preservation of cultural and natural diversity;
 formation of ecological culture and active life philosophy in young citizens with regard to global problems faced by human beings.
The contest includes the following four categories:
1. “Forest life and destinies of people”;
2. “Green planet through the eyes of children”;
3. “Variety of time-honored traditions”;
4. “Nature. Culture. Ecology”.

The All-Russian contest of ecological posters “Let’s protect water together!”started in Samara. The creative contest is intended for children from 3 to 18 years of age. For the purposes of this contest it is necessary to draw an ecological poster on water importance before February 9, 2015. The contest is aimed at fostering in children of careful attitude to water as an essentially important resource and precious natural blessing of Russia.

The third All-Russian contest “Libraries and ecology: ecological information, culture, enlightenment” started in Moscow. The contest is aimed at:
 generalization of experience of libraries in the field of ecological enlightenment;
 discovery of new libraries and organizations working in this direction;
 monitoring of information resources created in the last 5 years and related to ecology and nature use;
 support of ecological initiatives of libraries;
 enhancement ofinterlibrary cooperation based on ecological enlightenment andimprovement of exchange technologies and joint use of information resources regarding ecology and environment protection.
All the libraries and organizations experienced in the field of ecological information activity are invited to participate in the contest.

Kazan Children’s Ecological and Biological Center together with the Republican Olympiad Center of the Republic of Tatarstan is holdingthe Social and Ecological Contest“Let’s save nature of Tatarstan!”. The contest is aimed at propaganda of careful attitude to nature wealth, its rational use, and involvementof children in nature protection activity– these are integral parts of patriotic upbringing of children. Children and adolescents studying at educational establishmentsof forms 1-11 who show interest in study and preservation of nature of the motherlandcan participate in the contest. The contest will be held in two categories:
- nature protection campaign“Let’s save nature of Tatarstan!”;
- the contest of social poster
Pieces of work will be accepted until February20, 2015.
