Economically and environmentally friendly. Measures taken at Naberezhnye Chelny plant for wastewater treatment

Fresh water consumption reduced and water disposal system improved. Sewage treatment facilities have been renovated at Naberezhnye Chelny cardboard and paper mill. The treatment method introduced here is based on the use of microorganisms. Bacteria grown in reservoirs eat organic matter, contained in sewage. Thus, harmful impurities and constituents are removed from plant water. Treated water is discharged or returned to production cycle. Due to the closed cycle, the fresh water consumption was reduced by 40%, and the production process brings minimal pollution to the environment.
