Finalists of national contest of projects “Ecology of native land” defined

The first stage of the project “Ecology of the native land”, organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan and the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Tatarstan, has ended. About 100 works have been submitted for participation, among which seven chosen for the live stage. The list of finalists included projects of students from Kazan, Zainsk, Nizhnekamsk, Almetyevsk, Baltasins, Muslyumov and Kaibitsy districts. Now the contestants will have to present their works on the live stage, which will be held from 22 to 24 September 2017 in the territory of the sanatorium “Krutushka Kazan”. These days for the finalists teams will be held master classes from the underwater research team of the Russian Geographical Society named after Alexei Leonov, intellectual games, and a meeting with the famous Russian polar explorer Vladimir Chukov. Based on the results of the live stage, the winner will be determined who will be awarded with the main prize of the contest – an excursion to the Cosmonaut Training Center named after Y.A. Gagarin (Moscow). Teams that take the second and third places will have the opportunity to perform a trial scuba dive in the international CMAS system.
The contest of projects “Ecology of the native land” started on May 1, 2017. It is aimed at attracting the attention of people and younger generation of the Republic of Tatarstan to the solution of environmental issues in their native land.
