Problems of rational use and protection of water bodies were discussed today at a meeting of the round table at the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. The discussion was organized within the framework of the II International Conference “Lakes of Eurasia: Problems and Solution” held in Kazan.

216 educational organizations of the republic have joined the IX All-Russian festival of pedagogical ideas on environmental education. The event was organized within the framework of the International Eco-Schools/Green Flag program and takes place from May 21 to 27.

The Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Environmental Protection Chief State Inspector of the Republic of Tatarstan, Fayaz Shakirov inspected the territory of the republic from the air today. As a result of a flight around Kazan, Mamadyshskiy, Elabuzhskiy, Mendeleyevskiy, Tukayevskiy, Sarmanovskiy, Zainskiy, Nizhnekamskiy and Chistopolskiy districts, 70 violations of environmental legislation were revealed. About 6 tons of garbage were collected by Tatarstan activists in the framework of the federal project “Clean Games”. According to the results of team competitions held last weekend at 4 sites of the republic, residents of Avtograd became the absolute champions. They collected 3 tons of waste. Most of the garbage will get a “second life”, according to organizers. 610 bags were sent for recycling, which is 76% of all waste collected in the framework of the campaign.
In Russia, 69 cities and 6 thousand participants joined the campaign. 90 games were organized in which 129 tons of waste were collected.
