The IVRepublican Youth Forum was held in Kazan Tennis Academy.This year 46 projects in eight categories were presented at the final stage of the Forum.Participants of the Forum included young people from 16 to 30 years old (young scientists youngerthan 35), students of higher or vocational educational establishmentsof the Republic of Tatarstan, proponents of children’s and youth public associations of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Two projects in the category “Ecological safety” were shortlisted, namely “EcoApp” and “Program complex and methodology for optimization of urban tree planting planning”.

Today, inspectors of the Central Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan conducted an ordinary raid on the territory of Admiralteyskaya Sloboda.Representatives of Kazan Interdistrict Nature Protection Prosecutor’s Office, the Sixth Nature Protection Investigation department of the VolgaInterregionalInvestigation Department under theInvestigation Committee of the Russian Federation, the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage for the Republic of Tatarstan, experts of the municipal unitary enterprise “Vodokanal” were invited for joint work. Discharge of storm sewers of the companies that discharge wastewaters into the old bend of the river Kazanka was checked. Inspectors of the Central specialized inspection of analytical control under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstandrew water samples of storm sewersand sampled the point of mixingwith natural water. All in all, 6 samples were drawn, including 4 samples of sewage waters and 2 samples of natural water to determine the degree of contamination.According to the State Inspector of the Central Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Almaz Zakirov, the main aim of the inspection lies in detection of the sources of pollution, bringing of offenders to the responsibility established by law, as well as cessation of discharge of polluted drains into the water facility.

The meeting of the Board of the Department for Nature Management and Environmental Protection “On the state of the environment in Moscow in 2013 and tasks set for 2014” was held in Moscow.Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, Rinat Gizatulin, chairperson of the Commission under Moscow State Duma for Ecological Policy, Vera Stepanenko, the Minister for Ecology and Nature Management in MoscowRegion, Anzor Shomakhov, representatives of the laboratory for forecasting of environmental quality and health of the population of the Institute of National Economic Forecasting under the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Center for Ecological Policy of Russia, the WWF of Russia, and non-commercial partnership“Center for ecological certification – Green standards” participated in the event. The First Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustem Kamalov, participated on behalf of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The Committee for Natural Resources, Environmental Management and Ecology held parliament hearings at the State Duma of the Russian Federation on“Legal groundwork for the state policy in the field of ecological development of the Russian Federation”. The First Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustem Kamalov, took part in the event.

The annual social campaign “Grackles have come” commenced in Kazan, and it coincided with the International day of birds. It is the contest that implies construction of nesting boxes and birdhouses by pupils of the capital of the Republic. The main tasks include improvement of the skills of use of construction instruments, fostering of responsible attitude to the environment, and, what is mostly important, perception by the participants of the possibility to make a contribution into solution of global ecological problems.

More than 700 delegates coming from various regions participated in the work of the V International forum “Ecology”that was held in St. Petersburg,including representatives of regional and federal authoritiesand business communities from 30 foreign countries and 50 regions of the country, as well as representatives of non-commercial organizations.

The Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Artem Sidorov, took part in the campaign “The Day of Edinaya Rossiya (United Russia) in Zelenodolsk district”.The Minister inspected problematic facilities of municipal infrastructure and engineering protection on the territory of the district. Artem Sidorov met with citizens of Nizhnie Vyazovye rural settlement and answered the questions of citizens.

The meeting of the Minister Artem Sidorov with Deputy Head of the Department for Water Resources Management of UNIDO, Christian Susan, and National Coordinator of the UNIDO project in Russia, Boris Melnichuk, was held at the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The matters regarding interaction in the framework of the project “Detection, evaluation and gradation of the foci of pollution of water facilities to transfer eco-friendly technologies” were discussed during the meeting.

The III International Research and Practice conference “Modern problems of life safety: present and future” was held in Kazan in the framework of the XIX forum “Safety and communications”. The section “Environmental safety” arranged by the Ministry of Ecology was held in the course of the conference under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustem Kamalov.

Experts of the Trans-Volga Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan participated in the meeting of the core group, representativesof the entities of small and medium businesses of Apastovo district. The report on the results of activity of the Trans-Volga Territorial Department for 2013 and the tasks set for 2014 was presented.
