First Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan - Chief State Inspector of the Republic of Tatarstan in the field of environmental protection Fayaz Shakirov answered questions of residents of Menzelinskiy and Aktanyshskiy districts. The accident at the oil pipeline in the Almetyevskiy district caused pollution of about 700 square meters territory. Information about the incident was promptly transmitted to the Office of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies and the oil company, the rush was eliminated on the same day.

Today, environmentalists have relocated to the site in order to monitor ongoing mitigation activities. 12 people and 33 units of special equipment are involved in the pumping of oil products, removal and export of contaminated soil.

Reconstruction of the enclosing dam on the left bank of the Kama river will start next year. The first stage of work will start under a two-year contract at the expense of the republican budget in the amount of 66.6 million rubles. At present, the emergency state of the shore protection structure is dangerous for the population. During the flood period, 3 settlements with about 500 people, 3 children's recreation camps, garden plots and more than 100 engineering infrastructure facilities fall into the zone of possible flooding.

The Children's Ecological and Biological Center jointly with the Republican Olympiad Center held a methodological seminar on topic “Environmental education: the educational process and research activities”. Participants discussed issues of biological and environmental education.

A massive citywide Saturday voluntary cleanup day took place in Naberezhnye Chelny last weekend. As part of the autumn harvest, the territory of the Nizhny Kama National Park was cleaned of debris and branches. The event was joined by employees of the Prikamskiy Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, caring residents of the city, including students, employees of the executive committee and educational institutions. More than 1,000 people took part in the cleanup day.
