The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation plans to expand the list of wetlands of international importance. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry. The corresponding decision was made following the results of the meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia. At present, the Ministry has worked out the question of including new wetlands in the Russian Ramsar List, consisting of 35 wetlands.
Applications are accepted for participation in a photo contest “Trees - monuments of wildlife”, participants of which can be residents of the Russian Federation above the age of 18.
For participation it is necessary to register on the website: http://rosdrevo.ru/request/photo-contest/ and send a photo before August 1, 2018. The contest accepts color and monochrome photographs (including black and white), the subject of which are trees recognized by the Certification Commission of the Program as nature monuments (a list of such trees can be found at: http://rosdrevo.ru/derevya-pamyatniki-zhivoy- prirody-spisok).
Internet resource for the development of "reserved" volunteering will appear in 2018. This is reported on the official website of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation. Head of the Ministry Sergey Donskoy said at the All-Russian Volunteer Forum held 4 in Moscow on December: "With the aim of systematization of volunteer work, we plan to develop an aggregator website to collect all available proposals, by the analogy with the "booking.com", until mid-2018. The Minister said that in 2017, the Year of Specially Protected Natural Territories, was not only a reminder of the anniversary of the Russian reserve system, but also a factor for the consolidation of public forces and volunteer organizations under the environmental agenda.
Today, within the framework of the Spartakiad of Civil Servants of the Republic of Tatarstan, the staff of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of RT took part in the basketball competitions in the Miras sports complex. For the entrance to the semi-final, environmentalists fought against teams from the Department of the Judicial Department of Tatarstan and the Volga Administration of Rostechnadzor.
The application for the national award in the field of ecology and geography “Crystal Compass” was launched. It has started receipt of applications for participation in the city stage of the All-Russian contest “My Little Homeland: Nature, Culture, Ethnicity”. The organizers of the contest are the Kazan City Education Department and the City Children's Ecological and Biological Center together with environmental organizations. The V All-Russian Congress on Environmental Protection and the II International Exhibition and Forum "Ecotech" will be the final events of the Year of Ecology. Today the youth ecological movement of the Republic of Tatarstan Budetchisto summed up the Year of Ecology and Public Spaces. At the solemn event held in Kazan, 350 top movement activists from 43 districts and 2 cities of federal significance gathered. "These are the people who, by their example, show how to protect nature. They inspire the rest to solve environmental issues in their native republic.
Measures for the neutralization of pollutants were taken at one of the Naberezhnye Chelny car washes. Pursuant to the order of the inspectors of the Prikamsky Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, a water treatment system was installed at the enterprise. The complex of measures taken has become a method of solving a violation previously discovered by environmentalists.
The inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan switched to intensified working regime to prevent unauthorized storage of snow. Night inspections are conducted. In the spring, when snow melts, chemicals, debris and other contaminants can get into the soil, water objects, which is unacceptable, – environmentalists explain. Snow should be moved to designated sites, where all the necessary requirements are taken into account and the environment is not harmed. Today in Kazan there are 6 snow melting stations.
