Farid Abdulganiev: “Due to strict control of Ministry of Ecology inspectors, number of illegal quarries decreased”

10 July 2017, Monday

Illegal quarry of 78 m2 was discovered by inspectors of the Central Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan near the village of Chepchugi, Vysokogorsky district. Here diggers unlicensedly extracted sand to the depth up to 6.2 meters. This fact is a violation of environmental legislation under Art. 7.3. Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Use of subsoil without a license for the use of subsoil”. The inspectors of the Central Administrative Board made an administrative protocol against the “black digger”. The illegal sand miner will be held accountable.
The activities of environmentalists to identify violations in the field of subsoil use will continue in the framework of the Year of Ecology. “Due to strict control of inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology, the number of illegal quarries on the territory of the republic decreased. In 2016, more than 140 violations were detected in illegal mining of common mineral resources, and in 2017 this figure decreased to 18. Positive results of inspections, namely compliance with licensing requirements by subsoil users and legitimate mining of common useful minerals, allow preserving natural resources without causing damage,” – said the Minister of Ecology of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganiev.
